In
Mahabharat, height of Karna is said to be 8 ratni. Now 'ratni' has many
meanings related and not related to measurements. Just check which one
fits the most.
1. One ratni is the distance between elbow and end of middle finger of a stretched out hand. This is generally 24 Angulas or 30 Angulas for kshatriya men (they're maha baahu). The final measurement is more than 12 feet. But a man taller than 7 feet is considered to be a Rakshasa. (probably a case of Gigantism, a hormonal imbalance disorder). Hence this is too tall to be accepted as Karna's height.
2. One Ratni is also the measurement of closed fist which is 6 Angulas. So that would be only a little more than 3 feet. So this also cannot be his height as men below 5 feet are called Vaamana (dwarfs)..
3. Another option for Ratni is the hasta aayata or length of open palm. It is 12 Angula which gives his height as 192 cm or approximately 6'4".
